Project-Based Voucher and Public Housing Waiting List is Open for Multiple Senior and Family Sites

The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY) announces that the Family/Senior waiting list for the Project-Based Voucher (PBV) and Public housing sites listed below will open for pre‑application on Thursday, March 27, 2025 (9:00 AM ET), and close on Friday, March 28, 2025 (11:59 PM ET).

All pre-applications must be submitted electronically on mhacy.org.

Please note that submission of an online pre-application does not guarantee placement on the waiting list, and placement on the waiting list does not guarantee eligibility or an offer of housing.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

• The family must be eligible for a studio, one, two-bedroom, three-bedroom or four-bedroom unit according to MHACY’s occupancy standards. The definition of elderly/senior is at least 62 years of age at the time of application.
• Eligibility is based on household income, citizenship, and the ability of the family to meet screening requirements.
• MHACY does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, familial status, or disability.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Only one (1) application per household, per waiting list will be accepted.
2. Complete & Submit Online Pre-Application at mhacy.org.

PLACEMENT ON THE WAITING LIST

• Only pre-applications with families that meet the qualification criteria AND were received in a timely manner will be added to the waitlist.
• After being placed on the waiting list you will receive a letter of confirmation.
• The waiting time is determined by applicant order on the waiting list; the bedroom size required; and unit vacancy.

INCOME LIMIT PER FAMILY SIZE

• All income-eligible households may submit an application. To meet U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requirements families’ incomes must not exceed the following 2024 income limits.
