The vast majority of positions at MHACY are subject to the New York Civil Service Law, and as a result most applicants must take a civil service examination to qualify for employment. Exceptions to this general rule include custodians, maintenance mechanics and confidential employees.
The Civil Service Commission for the City of Yonkers lists examination dates and job postings for all civil service positions within the city on its website at www.yonkersny.gov/work/jobs.
All job applicants must complete a standard application form and MHACY may require proof of minimum age, education, experience, and other qualifications as may be appropriate. All applicants are subject to a substance abuse test and a background check, and some are required to produce a valid NYS Driver’s License.
