Mission

The Mulford Corporation (“Mulford”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that was formed to develop, manage and facilitate affordable housing in Yonkers, New York. Since its establishment Mulford has either developed or co-developed over 2,200 units of low income housing and has actively participated in the operation of over nineteen (19) low income properties. In addition to its development related activities, Mulford works with local organizations to provide education, arts, and supportive services to the community.

Purpose

Operated by an independent Board of Directors Mulford works with the Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Yonkers (“MHACY”) and related organizations and agencies to increase and foster the accessibility of low-income housing and offer essential services to the residents of the city’s affordable housing communities. These social services include drug education and elimination programs, parenting programs, childcare, job training, education, as well as extensive recreation and cultural activities. Mulford is also committed to the goal of transitioning the affordable housing properties in Yonkers to a clean energy and a climate resilient economy that addresses health, environmental, and energy burdens that have disproportionately impacted underrepresented or underserved communities (including people of color, indigenous populations, low-income individuals, and women) and to remedy the structural causes that underpin these burdens.
